Wind Development Engineer

Overview: As a Wind Development Engineer specializing in renewable energy in Korea, you will play a critical role in the development and execution of onshore wind projects. Your responsibilities will include wind turbine siting, civil engineering tasks, and overseeing the construction of meteorological masts. Additionally, you will conduct transportation route studies and assess feasibility for site development.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Identify suitable locations for wind turbine installation based on wind resource assessments, terrain analysis, and environmental considerations.
    • Optimize turbine layout to maximize energy production and efficiency while adhering to local regulations and project requirements.
    • Collaborate with civil engineers to design and oversee construction activities related to wind farm infrastructure, including access roads, foundations, and electrical infrastructure.
    • Ensure compliance with technical standards, safety guidelines, and environmental regulations.
    • Manage the installation and maintenance of meteorological masts to collect wind data for project assessment and validation.
    • Coordinate with contractors and technicians to ensure timely and accurate data collection.
    • Conduct studies to evaluate transportation routes for equipment delivery, turbine components, and construction materials.
    • Identify and address logistical challenges to optimize transportation efficiency and minimize project costs.
    • Assess the feasibility of potential wind farm sites through detailed site studies, including environmental impact assessments, grid connection analysis, and land acquisition considerations.
    • Prepare comprehensive feasibility reports outlining technical, economic, and regulatory aspects of project development.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in wind energy project development, with a focus on site assessment and construction.
  • Strong knowledge of wind resource assessment methodologies, turbine technology, and civil infrastructure design.
  • Proficiency in project management and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with local regulatory frameworks and permitting processes for renewable energy projects in Korea.
  • Excellent communication skills in Korean and English, both written and verbal.
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and a commitment to safety and sustainability.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel frequently to project sites across Korea.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders including government agencies, landowners, contractors, and internal teams.
