Construction Manager – Bucharest, Romania
A renewable energy developer is seeking a Construction Manager to support the delivery of large-scale clean energy projects, including solar PV, onshore wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Romania.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to procurement processes (RFQ/RFP), technical scopes, and contractual negotiations
- Review engineering designs and liaise with designers and Balance of Plant (BoP) contractors
- Oversee on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to quality standards, schedule, and budget targets
- Prepare and manage all documentation required prior to construction commencement
- Ensure compliance with permitting and regulatory requirements during execution
- Track project progress and provide regular reporting on status, risks, and mitigation actions
- Coordinate cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Procurement, Legal, and Health & Safety
- Manage project scheduling, payments, and overall execution performance
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Civil preferred)
- At least 7 years of experience in utility-scale renewable energy projects (solar PV and wind)
- Proven involvement in projects from ready-to-build stage through to commercial operation, including grid connection works
- Strong background in construction coordination and stakeholder management
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Project, and Microsoft Office tools
- Solid understanding of high-voltage systems, substations, and power plant components
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Fluent in English and willing to travel when required
