Field Service Specialist

From TaylorHopkinson we are seeking for a Field Service Engineer for a global industrial company specialized in advanced battery technologies for industry.

Its Energy Storage Systems (ESS) division focuses on supporting the growing global demand for energy storage and enabling the transition toward renewable energy.

Role Overview

The Field Services Engineer will provide technical support in the field, with responsibilities including:

  • Installation & commissioning of lithium-ion energy storage systems (containerized solutions) across EMEA and occasionally worldwide
  • Operation & maintenance support for existing lithium-ion products

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and understand customer applications
  • Adapt system configurations (battery solutions, power systems, electrical infrastructure) to customer needs
  • Ensure proper conditions of use and maintenance on-site
  • Support customers and demonstrate solution reliability compared to competitors
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in coordination with engineering teams
  • Provide remote monitoring and diagnostics support
  • Train local partners and subcontractors on maintenance procedures
  • Support bidding processes with field expertise
  • Continuously develop product and market knowledge
  • Contribute to defining service strategies and best practices
  • Ensure safety, reliability, and operational standards are implemented on-site

Knowledge sharing & documentation:

  • Contribute to technical documentation (manuals, tools, diagnostic systems)
  • Deliver training sessions to customers and partners

Field service activities include:

  • Service interventions
  • System testing and validation
  • Troubleshooting and repairs
  • Component replacement
  • Training delivery
  • Ensure compliance with corporate safety policies
  • Monitor and improve customer satisfaction

Profile

  • Engineering background (electrical, energy, electronics, automation, or similar)
  • Field experience, including outdoor and international environments
  • Knowledge of battery systems and applications
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems

Certifications (Required):

  • Health & safety training (construction-related, minimum 20 hours)
  • Advanced safety certification (minimum 60 hours + additional specialization training)
