⚖️ Associate Legal Counsel | Renewable Energy | Tokyo, Japan
MUST HAVE: Japanese law qualification/experience
We’re working with a leading global renewable energy company that develops, owns and operates its own assets across Japan and APAC.
Through this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work on large-scale renewable energy projects, collaborate with international teams, and play a key role in the company’s continued growth across the APAC region.
What you will be doing?

Provide legal advice on renewable energy projects and business activities in Japan.

Review, draft, and negotiate key contracts, including PPA, EPC, JV, M&A, and project finance agreements.

Advise on Japanese energy regulations, tenders, bidding, and compliance.

Identify and manage legal and business risks.

Support M&A and new project opportunities.

Work closely with Business Development, Finance, Engineering, Procurement, and Asset Management teams.

Promote legal and compliance awareness across the business.
What do you need?

Law degree from a Japanese university.

atleast 5 years of relevant legal experience, ideally in renewable energy, power, infrastructure, or real estate.

Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.

Good understanding of Japanese energy laws and regulations.

Fluent English.

Japan Bar or Commonwealth qualification is preferred.
