Business Development Manager – DG

Taylor Hopkinson is currently in active pursuit of a Business Development Manager with a leading global solar racking and tracker manufacturer, recognized as one of the largest in the U.S. and worldwide, is expanding its distributed generation business and seeking a driven and experienced Business Development Manager to lead its North America market penetration strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline of DG projects (1 MW – 20 MW)

  • Target C&I customers and community solar developers to expand customer base

  • Develop strategic partnerships with regional EPCs, developers, and project owners

  • Research and track market activities, competitor movements, and strategic positioning

  • Define customer personas and design effective market penetration strategies

  • Manage opportunities and reporting through CRM systems

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, project management, and supply chain teams to deliver customer success

  • Provide monthly pipeline reports and market intelligence updates to division leadership

  • Represent the company at key industry conferences, events, and forums

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field

  • Proven experience in distributed solar sales with a successful track record preferred

  • Strong technical acumen with ability to engage on engineering, finance, and marketing topics

  • Highly self-directed, resourceful, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

  • Willingness to travel as required
