The Data Center Project Manager (Construction) will be responsible for executing data center design, procurement and construction, and handovers to the operations team.
He/she will be the interface with our DC funding team, reporting on project progress, risks / issues and contribute to our investor reports. He/she will also liaise with other internal teams including procurement team, project engineering, Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) team to ensure governance requirements are met.
Responsibilities:
o Act as the Owner’s Representative and lead project stakeholders including designers, consultants, contractors, authorities, utility providers, and tenants throughout the project lifecycle.
o Coordinate with utility providers and relevant authorities to secure project power, water, telecommunications, and permitting requirements.
o Develop and maintain project master schedules.
o Oversee the financial management of projects ensuring budgets are not exceeded variances are managed and expenditure forecasts / cashflow is monitored.
o Ensure that project safety plans are developed and observed.
o Work closely with the project management and cost consultants to select and appoint General Contractors.
o Propose GC contract strategies and work with legal advisors to finalise GC contracts.
o Coordinate design, procurement and construction activities, including Testing & Commissioning with operations team.
o Coordinate and manage different construction package such as Core & Shell construction, Fit-out construction, electrical HV substation, UPS, generator, chiller, and AHU.
o Ensure project handover activities, acceptance, operations & maintenance documentation is completed at each buildout phase.
o Drive day-to-day design and construction decisions
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in design, engineering, project management, construction management, or development of complex technical facilities, with demonstrated leadership responsibility
- Experience in data centers, mission-critical facilities, industrial facilities, semiconductor facilities, healthcare facilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects is preferred
- Experience in CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) construction management is a requirement
