Control Engineer needed for a Major Offshore Wind developer in the United Kingdom.
Responsibilities:
- Review the current Electrical Safety Rules in collaboration with the internal team.
- Develop and propose updates to include a direct authorisation route for Control Engineers.
- Design a training plan specifically tailored for Control Engineers, separate from AP/SAP pathways.
- Define authorisation requirements for the new Control Engineer role.
- Provide expert advice and input on best practices in electrical safety and control engineering authorisation frameworks.
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure recommendations align with company policies, operational needs, and compliance standards.
- Produce a comprehensive draft update of the Electrical Safety Rules for review and approval by December 2025.
Requirements:
- Level 5 or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Level 3 or higher qualification in Safety (e.g. NEBOSH National Certificate).
- Proven experience as a Control Engineer or Control Person within the energy or utilities sector.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety management and authorisation processes.
- Experience contributing to or developing safety rules, authorisation frameworks, or training programs is highly desirable.
