Environmental Compliance Coordinator

The Environmental Compliance Coordinator ensures compliance with environmental, chemical, waste management, and permitting regulations for Electric Distribution operations across the Eastern Region of Virginia. The role involves field inspections, training site personnel, preparing reports for internal and regulatory use, and supporting compliance with company and governmental environmental standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field inspections and assessments to ensure environmental compliance

  • Provide training on chemical handling, waste management, erosion and sediment control, and spill prevention

  • Prepare and submit compliance reports to internal stakeholders and external agencies

  • Advise operational teams on environmental regulations and best practices

  • Support environmental health and safety efforts across multiple work sites

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field

  • Certifications:

    • Virginia DEQ Erosion and Sediment Control Inspector

    • Virginia DEQ Stormwater Inspector

  • Experience:

    • Environmental field experience

    • Knowledge of environmental regulations and permit compliance


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with electric utilities

  • Background in project inspections

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
