Financial Accountant

Taylor Hopkinson is supporting the recruitment process on behalf of a fast-growing international company operating in the renewable energy sector. The organization develops, invests in, and manages clean energy infrastructure projects across multiple European markets, with a strong commitment to sustainability, innovation, and long-term value creation.

As the business continues to expand, the Finance team is looking for a Financial accountant to support accounting operations and ensure compliance with Italian tax and financial regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage daily accounting transactions in accordance with Italian accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting activities.
  • Monitor and assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely reconciliation and issue resolution.
  • Prepare and coordinate indirect and direct tax compliance activities, including VAT returns, withholding tax obligations, and statutory filings.
  • Liaise with external accountants, tax consultants, and auditors to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Provide support during tax inspections and statutory audits by gathering and organising the required documentation.
  • Assist with intercompany accounting activities and contribute to transfer pricing documentation where required.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure financial documentation is properly archived.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and support the implementation of regulatory updates.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting procedures and improve operational efficiency.
  • Act as a reliable point of contact for finance-related queries from internal departments.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 3-5 years of experience in accounting, tax, or corporate finance.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
  • High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial information.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
