Exciting opportunity to join a leading global IPP as an Interconnection Manager focused on onshore wind, Solar PV, energy storage, and other technologies.

  • MUST be based in Austin, or be willing and able to relocate to Austin, TX.

Summary:

  • You’ll lead the full lifecycle of transmission and interconnection strategy for a diverse portfolio of solar, wind, hybrid, load, and standalone storage projects.
  • Drive critical decision making through project Due Diligence, Queue assessment, and ISO/RTO interconnection management.
  • Reporting to the Director of Transmission and Interconnection.
  • Must be able to balance a large number of projects simultaneously.
  • Preferred to have experience in PJM/MISO markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage interconnection applications and queue positions during the study phases.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all requirements meet grid interconnection standards.
  • Provide compliance and technical support, perform routine updates, and ensure the project management database is up-to-date with the latest information.
  • Support project’s acquisitions interconnection due diligence for solar, wind, loads, and standalone storage projects.
  • Negotiate complex transmission and/or generator interconnection agreements with various transmission service providers across the US and Canada such as IA/ISA/CSA.

Ideal Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in interconnection engineering or a related field, specifically in the renewable energy sector.
  • Strong knowledge of power systems, grid architecture, and renewable energy technologies.
  • Proficiency in using software tools for power system modeling and analysis such as PSS/E, PowerWorld, PSLF, PSCAD, and/or TARA.
  • Good working knowledge of the RTO/ISO transmission planning and generation interconnection processes of one or more of the following areas: ERCOT,CAISO, PJM, SPP, MISO, ERCOT, SERC, NYISO, WECC, etc.
  • Previous experience as a transmission planning, transmission, generation, transmission analyst, or interconnection engineer preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
