Cost Accountant Duties and Responsibilities
The Cost Accountant will support accurate product costing, inventory control, and cost analysis to enable effective operational and financial decision-making. This role requires strong technical accounting skills with a focus on manufacturing cost structures.
The key duties and responsibilities include:
- Analyze and estimate costs of new and existing product lines
- Partner with management to develop and maintain cost standards and costing methodologies
- Evaluate production costs, including labor efficiency, equipment utilization, and inventory valuation
- Prepare and support month-end close activities, including cost-related journal entries and reconciliations
- Review, reconcile, and maintain inventory accounts; investigate variances and discrepancies
- Conduct and support physical inventories, cycle counts, and inventory audits
- Identify cost reduction opportunities and recommend cost-effective strategies to management
- Prepare and present cost analysis, variance analysis, and profitability reports to senior leadership
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements
- Support internal and external audits and assist with general ledger preparation
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, or Accountant in a manufacturing or operational environment
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and general accounting procedures
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines in a close-driven environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

任职资格
- 具有成本会计、成本分析师或相关会计岗位的工作经验，制造业背景优先
- 熟悉成本会计原理及一般会计流程
- 具备ERP系统使用经验（如 NetSuite），并熟练使用 Excel
- 具备良好的分析能力，注重细节，数据准确性高
- 具备良好的时间管理能力，能够在结账周期内按时完成工作
- 会计、财务或相关专业本科及以上学历
