A leading UK law firm is seeking an Associate to join its highly regarded Planning & Infrastructure team in Scotland. Based in Edinburgh or Glasgow, this role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile and complex matters across the energy and utilities, real estate and transport sectors.
The role:
- Advising on planning law and infrastructure consenting regimes in Scotland and the wider UK
- Supporting major development and infrastructure projects, including energy and transport schemes
- Drafting and negotiating planning obligations and related agreements
- Advising on environmental, EIA, biodiversity and sustainability matters
- Supporting planning appeals, inquiries and judicial review proceedings
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across real estate, projects, corporate and finance teams
- Building strong client relationships and contributing to business development
Experience:
- Scots law qualified (or dual qualified), ideally NQ-3 years’ PQE
- Experience or strong interest in planning and infrastructure consenting
- Backgrounds in planning, real estate, public sector, disputes or in-house desirable, including energy or government environments
- Ability to confidently draft legally effective documents reflecting client instructions
- Keen to develop legal skillset and continuous learning
