About the Company
Our client is a global leader in renewable energy technology, delivering innovative solar solutions across residential, commercial, and utility-scale applications. Due to continued growth in the UK market, they are looking to appoint a technically strong and customer-focused Pre-Sales Engineer to support their expanding solar PV business.
The Role
As a Pre-Sales Engineer, you will serve as the technical expert supporting the UK sales team, EPC partners, developers, installers, and distribution partners throughout the sales cycle.
You will provide technical guidance on solar PV solutions, support system design activities, deliver customer presentations, and represent the business at industry events and conferences. This role requires a combination of strong engineering expertise, commercial awareness, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical pre-sales support across the company’s solar PV product portfolio.
- Support the sales team throughout customer engagements, tenders, and bid processes.
- Engage with EPCs, installers, developers, consultants, and distribution partners across the UK.
- Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and customer training sessions.
- Assist customers with system design and product selection.
- Review project requirements and develop technical recommendations and solutions.
- Respond to technical enquiries, RFIs, and tender submissions.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends, market developments, and competitor activity.
- Represent the business at conferences, exhibitions, customer meetings, and industry events.
- Collaborate closely with internal engineering, product, and service teams.
Essential Requirements
- Strong engineering background within the solar PV industry.
- Experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Pre-Sales Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer, Applications Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Product Engineer, or Solar Engineer.
- Strong understanding of solar PV systems and inverter technologies.
- Experience working with EPCs, installers, developers, consultants, or distribution partners.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and commercial audiences.
- Comfortable delivering presentations at customer meetings, exhibitions, and industry events.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
Preferred Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience working for a solar inverter manufacturer or solar technology company.
- Knowledge of UK solar PV standards, regulations, and market dynamics.
- Familiarity with PV design and modelling software such as PVsyst.
- Experience supporting Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and Distributed Generation (DG) solar projects.
- Spanish language skills are highly desirable.
