Job Description
The Development Manager will drive the advancement of Copenhagen Energy’s renewable energy pipeline in Germany, focusing on wind and BESS projects. The role is pivotal in taking projects from early-stage development through permitting, grid connection, and financial close, ensuring successful execution and expansion of the company’s portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pipeline Development: Advance existing wind and BESS projects to phase two of development, securing permits and development plans.
- Project Execution: Lead greenfield development and project advancement from site sourcing and permitting to ready-to-build (RTB) status.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Manage relationships with municipalities, external partners, and authorities, ensuring smooth project progression.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues in Copenhagen and Berlin, as well as technical, legal, and trading teams.
- Regional Focus: Oversee projects across all four TSO markets in Germany.
- Partnerships: Support the partnership-driven business model, facilitating investor involvement and project handover at RTB or turn-key stages.
- Autonomy: Operate within an agile, flat organizational structure, reporting directly to the Managing Director in Germany, with significant autonomy in decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven track record in renewable energy project development, especially wind and BESS. Experience with permitting, grid connection, and stakeholder management is essential.
- Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work cross functionally and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Mindset: Entrepreneurial, hands-on, proactive, and efficient. Structured and solution-oriented, comfortable with fast-paced decision-making and adapting to evolving project needs.
- Languages: Fluency in both German and English is mandatory.
- Travel: Willingness to travel regularly to project sites and municipalities across Germany.
- Collaboration: Enjoys working in close-knit, agile teams and engaging directly in project execution.
