About the Opportunity
Join a leading global renewable energy developer as part of its growing Japan offshore wind business and developing a large-scale fixed-bottom offshore wind project in the Chūbu area.
Location: Mainly based in the Tokyo office, with regular travel to the project site in the Chūbu area
Language: Native-level Japanese + business-level English required
Key Responsibilities
- Overall HSE leadership across the project
- Lead the project HSE team
- Japanese HSE and environmental regulatory compliance
- Liaison with Japanese authorities, inspections and audits
- HSE management across development, construction and handover
- Contractor and subcontractor HSE management
- HSE risk assessment, mitigation and incident management
- Drive continuous improvement and a strong safety culture
- Work within a dual reporting structure
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Engineering, HSE, Environmental Management or related field
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of HSE experience in construction, infrastructure, offshore or energy projects
- Senior HSE leadership experience in multi-contractor environments
- Experience across development and construction phases
- Offshore wind or energy project experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of Japanese HSE legislation and regulations
- Strong leadership, risk management and stakeholder management skills
- Fluent Japanese and English
- Willingness to travel and work offshore/site-based
- ISO 45001/14001 auditor or incident investigation qualifications are a plus
