Senior Construction Project Manager

Taylor Hopkinson is seeking for a Senior Project Construction Manager for a global renewable energy platform backed by a leading impact investment firm, the company focuses on developing, constructing, and operating utility-scale PV and BESS projects. With a portfolio of more than 15 GW of assets across North America, Europe, and Latin America, it combines technical expertise with a commitment to sustainability and long-term asset ownership.

Our client is seeking highly motivated individual to play a key role in the Operations team.This person MUST be familiar with all aspects of the development, construction, commissioning, and operation of renewable energy projects.

During the development phase, the Sr. PM will collaborate with in-house and external teams to ensure that projects obtain all permits, authorizations, and licenses necessary to reach Ready to Build (RTB) status, while providing technical support and identifying potential issues and solutions. The role will also involve supporting design and negotiations for main equipment and EPC contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise performance of projects during engineering, construction, and commissioning phases, and lead the transition to operations and asset management.

  • Lead Pre-NTP and Construction phases of front-of-the-meter, utility-interconnected PV & BESS assets, and other energy generation sources.

  • Provide supervision and oversight to construction management, general and subcontractors, and material vendors.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to manage budgets, schedules, contract compliance, quality, and ESG matters.

  • Support development and entitlement processes.

  • Coordinate with Asset Management to ensure projects are delivered on budget, on schedule, and with required quality standards.

  • Participate in decision-making, providing technical input on project design and procurement.

  • Manage insurance claim settlements during construction.

  • Oversee third-party contracts including EPC, BoS, equipment, procurement, and technical advisors.

  • Manage project schedules, defining activities, sequencing, and resource planning.

  • Ensure compliance with quality management plans.

  • Oversee project requirements during pre-construction and construction phases related to financing, permitting, and offtake agreements.

  • Coordinate with external advisors to prepare due diligence and drawdown reports.

  • Manage relationships with landlords, tenants, and local communities.

  • Coordinate with internal HSE/ESG functions to implement health, safety, and sustainability policies.

  • Flag ESG issues promptly and engage with relevant stakeholders as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in Engineering or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience, ideally in industrial, utilities, or energy sectors; BESS experience strongly preferred.

  • MUST have experience with MISO and ERCOT, and other U.S. market processes.

  • MUST have taken at least 1-2 projects to COD.
  • Strong understanding of the U.S. solar project development process.

  • In-depth knowledge of renewable energy plant construction, operation, and maintenance.

  • Experience managing contracts and coordinating with contractors, utilities, grid operators, and offtakers.

  • Excellent communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills.

  • Ability to travel as needed to project sites and stakeholder meetings.
