Snr Asset Manager (Milan)

Taylor Hopkinson is supporting the search for a Senior Asset Manager on behalf of an international renewable energy company that develops, builds and operates utility-scale clean energy projects across Europe.

The Senior Asset Manager will oversee the operational and commercial management of a portfolio of utility-scale photovoltaic plants. The position is responsible for ensuring that assets achieve the highest levels of availability, performance, regulatory compliance and financial returns while coordinating multiple internal and external stakeholders.

This is a cross-functional role requiring close collaboration with engineering, finance, legal, construction, energy management and HSE teams, as well as contractors, service providers and local authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day technical and commercial performance of a portfolio of utility-scale solar PV assets.
  • Monitor plant performance, availability and operational KPIs, ensuring optimal asset efficiency.
  • Coordinate O&M contractors and external service providers, overseeing maintenance activities and contract performance.
  • Lead the resolution of technical issues, warranty claims and asset optimisation initiatives.
  • Support financial performance through budgeting, forecasting, operational reporting and cost control.
  • Manage relationships with utilities, grid operators, lenders, landowners and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental and health & safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maximise asset value throughout the operational lifecycle.
  • Support the management of agrivoltaic operations and BESS assets where applicable.

Candidate Profile:

  • Significant experience managing utility-scale solar PV assets, within the Italian renewable energy market.
  • Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure, including HV/MV/LV systems, substations, inverters and SCADA platforms.
  • Experience managing external contractors and technical service providers.
  • Knowledge of asset optimisation strategies, maintenance planning and warranty management.
  • Commercial awareness with experience supporting financial reporting, budgeting and operational performance analysis.
  • Good understanding of regulatory frameworks, grid operations and HSE requirements within the renewable energy sector.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify issues, prioritise actions and improve asset performance.
  • Previous experience with agrivoltaic projects is considered a plus.
  • Full professional proficiency in both English and Italian.
