The role involves contributing to the development of technical solutions and supporting customer-facing activities for large-scale solar power projects, with a focus on projects delivered within South Africa’s utility-scale market. The position works in close coordination with commercial, engineering, and regional stakeholders.
Role
- Contribute to the technical design and performance optimisation of large-scale photovoltaic systems.
- Support pre-sales engineering activities, including system layouts, technical analyses, and solution proposals.
- Take part in technical discussions with clients and participate in site assessments when required.
- Work collaboratively with sales, product, and engineering teams to ensure proposed solutions address project and customer requirements.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, presentations, and materials supporting tenders and proposals.
- Provide technical input during project development and the initial phases of project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a comparable technical discipline.
- Minimum of three years’ experience working on utility-scale solar or large power infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of photovoltaic system design principles and project development processes.
- Effective communicator with the ability to operate within multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with the local renewable energy market and regulatory environment is considered a strong advantage.
- Able to work remote with occasional travel throughout South Africa
