Sr. Sales Manager / Director of Sales – Distribution PV Modules

Taylor Hopkinson is seeking a Sr. Sales Manager / Director of Sales for the utility scale space for a global Tier 1 PV Module manufacturer and one of the largest solar wafer, cell, and module makers in the world. Its main U.S. presence is a joint venture with a U.S. developer that set out to build a 5 GW module factory.

The Senior Sales Manager / Director of Sales will join the Distribution team to identify and develop residential customer opportunities in the domestic market. Identify new business opportunities by analyzing market trends, customer resources, and client needs. Achieve sales and collection targets to support sustainable, healthy growth

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop residential customer opportunities in the domestic market
  • Build partnerships with high-quality distributors
  • Manage channel relationships and follow up to meet sales, collection, and customer development goals
  • Conduct market research and gather intelligence in line with the company’s BD strategy
  • Open new markets, acquire and manage new customers, and broaden the product sales scope
  • Track competitor and customer benchmarks, and work with Marketing and Product Management to optimize marketing activities and product launches in the region
  • Handle daily communication with accounts in the region
  • Coordinate with fulfillment to meet delivery timelines
  • Hold in-person customer meetings weekly or biweekly
  • Engage downstream customers through distribution partners to grow the business
  • Participate in co-op marketing events to build brand awareness and relationships
  • Provide forecasts covering build plans and shipment destinations
  • Deliver reports against defined metrics tied to KPIs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, power, or a related field
  • 7+ years in a similar business development or sales role in the solar industry
  • Solid understanding of U.S. PV market dynamics and industry trends
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders
  • Account management and development experience
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage conflict and ambiguity
  • Highly organized and proficient in Microsoft 365, with strong program management skills a plus
