Our clients know Taylor Hopkinson and Brunel as world leaders in compliant offshore wind contracting solutions – and our team are proving it, with three significant audit successes in recent weeks.
As well as recertification against the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) by Lloyd’s Register and DEME, our Compliance superstars also passed the rigorous Achilles Category C audit. These achievements demonstrate our shared commitment to upholding and promoting the highest possible standards in maritime labour and safety practices within the renewables sector.
The MLC recertifications were awarded to Taylor Hopkinson after comprehensive assessments of our policies, procedures, and working conditions for seafarers. The checks were conducted by leading contractor DEME and Lloyd’s Register, a renowned authority in the global maritime sector. Our team ably demonstrated our dedication to compliance with international standards and ensuring the wellbeing of our contractors, who work with the leading offshore wind developers to drive the energy transition around the world.
“Once again passing our DEME MLC audit opens up opportunities,” says Christy McInally, our Compliance Manager, “and with an improvement in our score bringing us near to perfect, it goes a long way to showing DEME and all of our global clients that we take the safety and compliance of our contractors seriously.”
In addition to the MLC recertification, we also scored 100% on the Achilles Category C audit. This evaluated our supply chain management processes, health and safety practices, and environmental management strategy. Achieving this demonstrates Taylor Hopkinson’s commitment to transparency, quality, and sustainable operations throughout our supply chain.
“Achilles is a compliance pre-qualification platform which is mandatory to work with UK utilities as a supplier,” says Leanne Law, Head of Business Operations at Taylor Hopkinson. “The audit covers all of our Health, Safety, Environmental and Compliance systems as well as our adherence to legislation and a review of our quality service provision to customers.
“Achieving a 100% pass mark is true testament to the quality of our team, our commitment to following the right processes, and our approach to continuous improvement and development. I’m so proud of the team and can’t wait to see more of this success in the future as we work with our Brunel colleagues on more pioneering projects.”
“These combined successes – achieving MLC recertification and passing the Achilles Category C audit – clearly demonstrate our commitment to the welfare of seafarers and the integrity of our operations,” says Fiona McRae, our Chief Operating Officer. “Alongside our Brunel colleagues, it further demonstrates our position as the world’s leading recruitment and global mobility partner to the renewables industry, our ability to attract top-tier talent who care about getting it right every time, and our dedication to fostering long-term partnerships with clients who prioritise responsible and sustainable practices.”
