Responsibilities of a QAQC Welding Inspector
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of welded joints using various NDT methods (VT, UT, MPI, LPT)
- Monitor welding parameters (voltage, current, travel speed, preheat/interpass temperatures)
- Review and verify compliance with welding procedures, specifications and relevant codes (AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, ISO 3834)
- Verify welder qualifications and certifications
- Inspect quality of base materials, consumables and filler materials
- Check material certificates and traceability
- Review and approve welding procedures
- Monitor correction work, rework or repairs per ITP requirements
- Maintain detailed inspection records and documentation

Required Qualifications and Certifications
- CSWIP 3.2 Registered Welding Inspector or equivalent (IWI)
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience as Welding Inspector in offshore wind industry
- Advanced knowledge of welding techniques (TIG, MIG, laser, butt, arc)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Strong understanding of welding standards and codes
- Experience with quality control documentation and reporting
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
