Responsibilities:

  • Implement the EMEA execution strategy and achieve business objectives for the region, guiding projects through financial approval processes.
  • Manage all aspects of commercial negotiations associated with EMEA projects, including funding discussions.
  • Proactively oversee the development process, identifying potential project delivery risks, managing budgets, and minimising losses from delays or project failures.
  • Optimise company performance by managing significant issues and risks related to safety, technical aspects, commercial matters, and project timelines within the portfolio.
  • Supervise development partners, ensuring they adhere to development plans, including resource allocation and budgeting.
  • Gather market insights, including competition analysis, market trends, and practices, by engaging with market participants like developers, construction firms, equipment suppliers, and specialised service providers.
  • Provide timely progress reports on the project pipeline and overall business performance to the CEO and key stakeholders, promptly escalating significant issues.
  • Collaborate with the CEO, CFO, and broader Executive Management Team to shape business strategy, establishing suitable policies, processes, and procedures to support the strategy.
  • Manage recruitment initiatives to bolster team growth and development in the region.

Competencies:

  • In-depth industry knowledge of Battery Energy Storage Systems and their significance within power systems and markets.
  • Familiarity with best practices for project development, EPC contract management, and asset management across various technology categories and geographical regions.
  • Extensive experience in negotiating EPC, AM, and O&M contracts to enhance execution performance, ideally as a senior Project Director or in a comparable position.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and prior management experience, especially in leading teams across European contexts.
  • Proficiency in fostering organisational growth and driving change initiatives.
