Taylor Hopkinson are working with one of the global leaders in the solar PV industry, a Tier 1 panel manufacturer with a vertically integrated business model. They develop, build, own and operate solar PV farms and commercial & industrial (C&I) rooftop projects on an international scale.
They are seeking to appoint a Head of C&I to lead their solar PV rooftop activities in Europe, growing and leading a team of engineers and project managers to deliver the turnkey solution to their customers. The Head of C&I will lead business development for rooftop projects in Europe and will grow a team to develop and execute these.
Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow the business unit, defining strategy and business plan
  • Seek out new project opportunities/acquisitions for large commercial rooftops within the C&I marketplace
  • Identification and negotiation with C&I customers to secure roof space and deliver turnkey solutions for the clients
  • Oversee project development from inception to completion
  • Coordinate bidding and tendering for projects
  • Continue to observe industry regulations, changes in the market, and business opportunities within the sector
  • Create and develop relationships with potential equity partners, developers, suppliers and off takers
  • Cooperate closely with internal functions (finance, legal, marketing, etc.)
  • Build headcount to include sales, engineers and project financing specialists
  • Define budgets, project plans, execution deliverables, and manage stakeholder expectations throughout
  • Manage and mitigate risk across the project
  • Ensure presence at major conferences and industry events to showcase C&I project offerings and brand within the sector

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in project development and management within the solar sector, with proven success in the C&I segment
  • Line management experience with capabilities in building and developing and teams
  • Experience identifying off-takers and negotiating private and/or public PPAs
  • Knowledge and experience in analysing business and project opportunities
  • Fluent English language skills, with German, Spanish and French as a plus
  • Experience in negotiating project financing with banks and institutions will be a plus
  • Willingness to travel within Europe
