Taylor Hopkinson are working with London based company to support their development team across the full development lifecycle of utility-scale grid connected solar and battery storage projects in the UK and Ireland. This is an opportunity to join one of the UKs most established solar energy Business Development teams and help to realize new and innovate ways to develop renewable energy assets.

The candidate will assess the feasibility of developing innovative technology solutions such as battery storage and green hydrogen in parallel with solar PV. You'll engage with internal stakeholders, liaising with planning, legal, finance, engineering and construction teams in addition to external stakeholders such as DNOs, landowners, government bodies and utilities.

Responsibilities and requirements:

* Support the evaluation of opportunities for site specific value enhancement, assessing solar technologies for co-location opportunities, e.g. battery storage, hydrogen electrolysis

* Run financial models to assess returns on multiple projects, assessing sensitivity analysis on investments against viable technical solutions such that they meet Lightsource bp's margin requirements

* Based on market analysis undertaken support early stage pipeline development, e.g. assisting with site finding by utilizing internal development tools (e.g. GIS mapping platform)

* Undertake market research on UK+I solar and storage market trends, policy updates, route to market options, industry participants and competitors

* Support the progress of development workstreams with internal business units, providing site specific inputs to facilitate; technical optimization, layout designs, payments, lease document reviews, construction contracts

* Assist in negotiating project documents including; land related agreements, power purchase agreements, EPC contracts

* Build relationships and problem solve project issues with external parties

* Assist with market entry processes to facilitate the successful participation in ancillary services or auction processes

Experience and background required

* Bachelor's degree, ideally in STEM

* Master's in finance / engineering preferred but not necessary

* One to two-year's experience in the renewables, infrastructure, investment or energy sector

* Knowledge of the renewables industry, power markets - specific UK&I knowledge would be beneficial

* Excellent written and verbal English language

* Flexible and 'can-do' attitude who wants to be part of a close-knit, fast paced and hardworking team

* Analytical with numerical ability

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders

* Strong attention to detail to solve new and interesting problems

* Works well in a deadline driven environment

* Full knowledge of the Microsoft Office pack

* Pro-active individual with a strong work ethic
