Interconnection Manager

Exciting opportunity to join an established privately-backed solar developer & operator as an Interconnection Manager.

Summary:

• Lead interconnection activities across the Distributed Generation solar portfolio and support select utility-scale projects. Manage Interconnection from early-stage feasibility and queue strategy through utility studies, Interconnection agreements, energization, and COD.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead DG project interconnection strategy, including POI, feeder/substation capacity evaluation, hosting capacity analysis, costs, schedules, and upgrade risks.
• Manage interconnection applications and queues, including pre-applications, queue positions study milestones, deposits, and deadlines.
• Coordinate utility studies and review results, upgrade scopes, costs, timelines, and project risks.
• Coordinate POI requirements, protection equipment requirements, metering, SCADA, and other tility-interface equipment with Engineering and EPC contractors.
• Track utility design and construction schedules and coordinate energization, witness testing, and PTO.
• Manage interconnection readiness for NTP and COD milestones and maintain portfolio-level interconnection status, cost, schedule, and risk tracking.
• Serve as the primary point of contact and maintain relationships with utilities across the portfolio.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in DG interconnection processes, specifically pertaining to renewable energy/solar/BESS projects.
• Experience with transmission interconnection and/or utility-scale renewable energy projects is a plus, but not required.
• Electrical Engineering (or related technical degree) preferred.
• Experience managing interconnection applications, queues, utility studies, and agreements.
• Experience working across multiple utility territories and markets across the US, with a strong understanding of different utility processes, requirements, and interconnection frameworks.
• Strong project management, analytical, and communication skills.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, small company environment with evolving processes and multiple concurrent projects.
