Our environmental, social and governance commitments

Diversity, inclusion and belonging

Our diversity, inclusion and belonging (DIB) strategy aims to enable a diverse, global workforce that will drive the world’s transition to sustainable energy. We want to lead the way, creating an inclusive workforce that is reflective of society and the markets where we operate, within our own business but also for our clients. Our 4 DIB pillars are: Ethnicity, Social Mobility, Neurodiversity and Gender & Sexual Orientation. Our dedicated DIB Committee meets monthly and is made up of a diverse range of colleagues from our global offices. This group helps to steer how we bring DIB to life by weaving inclusive practices through our everyday activities, and ultimately playing a key role in delivering our wider DIB strategy. We partner with dedicated business such as AFBE-UK Scotland to continue to guide and evolve our strategy.

We care about our future
  • We’re engaging future generations
Child and parent build model wind turbine at Offshore Wind 4 Kids event

We are a global partner to OffshoreWind4Kids, a programme designed to engage children across the world to learn about engineering, technology and renewables.

OffshoreWind4Kids has already been able to tap into our extensive global footprint, unlocking multiple opportunities to deliver events and initiatives in key offshore wind markets in the UK, Europe, APAC and the USA.

Our target is to roll out events to 2400 children by the end of 2024 and we’re already well on our way! We’ve delivered over 30 beach demonstration days and local school workshops where kids learn how to measure wind power generation by building wind turbines with a built-in display.

  • We’re supporting a sustainable planet

Alongside our colleagues at the Brunel Foundation, we’re accelerating reforestation by planting 19,000 trees across Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Ecuador, Kenya, Madagascar, and Bhutan.

We are proud to offer each and every Taylor Hopkinson employee and contractor around the world a newly planted tree, creating the Brunel Foundation Forest. Thanks to our partners at EcoMatcher, once you receive your tree you can track its growth, including information about its species, its carbon sequestration, and the farmer who planted it.

We’ve partnered with Career Ready Scotland, a two-year programme that empowers young people in S5/S6 to kick-start their chosen career through a series of authentic, paid workplace experiences and a network of support.

Each year we are joined by two career-ready interns for four weeks, to work across our sales and support teams. By the time they join us, they’ll have already benefited from a full year of 1-2-1 mentorship from our TH volunteers, providing the tools and confidence they need to gain valuable hands-on experience in a real-world setting.

  • Street Soccer
