Our services
In the preparation of its business plan, a joint venture bidder in the ScotWind auction round retained Taylor Hopkinson’s Business Intelligence team to design its entire organisational structure and deliver a remuneration benchmarking report for its eventual bid submission.
This work involved defining the project’s organisational structure pre- and post-consent, detailing job descriptions, competency frameworks, and creating a recruitment timeline based on the risk register for all the roles.
Our client submitted a successful bid and is now in development on a major project driving the energy transition in Scotland, with Taylor Hopkinson also retained to deliver several exceptional candidates for key roles within the new organisation.
Taylor Hopkinson is retained by a leading Fortune 500 global business to carry out regular remuneration benchmarking on four key roles within its offshore wind investment division.
Using our unique access to industry-specific salary data and direct engagement with the market, we identified, analysed and stratified distinct tiers within these roles. Our expert Business Intelligence researchers identified different levels of seniority, and clearly defined the changes in salary that come with progression through the levels.
We also outlined variations around factors like career background and skillset and benchmarked salaries against inflation. As a trusted, independent third party, our benchmarking provides weight in Board meetings for sign-off on salaries, ensuring that they remain competitive and in turn attracting top-tier talent to its offshore wind business.
Our work also helps our client produce more accurate financial forecasts, offers its people clarity and agency over their future career paths, and aids in succession planning.

A major European utility with offshore wind projects around the world retained Taylor Hopkinson to benchmark ten critical roles within the organisation.
Our research team identified relevant roles and benchmarked like-for-like, using our in-house database compiled over 15 years and leveraging our deep industry network and connections to gather fresh insight.
Because these roles were located across several countries with marked differences in average salaries, we provided international cost comparison, helping our client understand variations across its territories. This project also covered a range of disciplines, including financial, technical and commercial roles – highlighting the depth of our expertise in the sector.
Our review provided our client’s Board with valuable insight, enabling this global business to reduce risk and retain staff by signing-off on informed decisions based on up-to-the-minute data.
