A joint venture bidder in the ScotWind auction round retained Taylor Hopkinson’s Business Intelligence team to design its entire organisational structure and deliver a remuneration benchmarking report for its eventual bid submission.
This involved defining the project’s organisational structure pre- and post-consent, detailing job descriptions, competency frameworks, and creating a recruitment timeline based on the risk register for all roles.
Our client submitted a successful bid and is now in development on a major project driving the energy transition in Scotland, with Taylor Hopkinson also retained to deliver several exceptional candidates for key roles within the new organisation.
We are retained by a leading Fortune 500 global business to carry out regular remuneration benchmarking on four key roles within its offshore wind investment division.
Using our unique access to industry-specific salary data and direct engagement with the market, we identified, analysed and stratified distinct tiers within these roles. Our researchers identified different levels of seniority, and defined salary changes in line with career progression. We highlighted variations in factors such as career background and skillset and benchmarked salaries against inflation. As a trusted, independent third party, our benchmarking aids Board-level decision making, enables more accurate financial forecasts, offers its people clarity and agency over their future career paths, and support succession planning.
We are retained by a major European utility with offshore wind projects around the world to benchmark ten critical roles within the organisation.
Our research team identified relevant roles and benchmarked like-for-like, using our in-house database compiled over 15 years and leveraging our deep industry network and connections to gather fresh insight.
As these roles were located across several countries, we provided an international cost comparison, helping our client understand regional variations in average salaries. This project also covered a range of disciplines, including financial, technical and commercial roles – highlighting the depth of our expertise in the sector.
Our review provided our client’s Board with valuable insight, reducing risk and retaining staff by signing-off on informed decisions based on up-to-the-minute data.
Taylor Hopkinson helped us identify competency gaps in our existing team and conduct psychometric profiling on all our team members, then helped us to design role descriptions for new hires to address those gaps, and develop a selection and interview format that would assess these competencies. This process was extremely valuable to us in terms of attracting and retaining our talent.
