Position: Commercial Manager
Location: Tokyo, Japan (Hybrid)
The role is responsible for leading the commercial and contractual aspects of large-scale renewable projects, from tender and proposal evaluation through contract negotiation and deal closure.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, such as sales, engineering, legal, finance, and project management, this position plays a key role in shaping commercial strategy, optimising deal value, managing risk, and securing internal approvals.
Key responsibilities:
1) Coordinating proposal development, analyse and assess customer requests for proposal and tenders, considering critical key indicators
2) Leading customer negotiations, drafting and negotiating equipment and services contracts, and presenting commercial risk assessments to internal review boards
3) Actively participate in the development of the commercial strategy for the deals; identify and capture value optimization opportunities. Develop negotiation strategy with the extended team
4) Take informed decisions regarding the proposal; present proposal summaries including commercial risk and mitigation plan to the risk review board and obtain management approval for all critical items of each transaction
Requirements:
- Japanese and English Fluency
- Experience in negotiating terms and conditions and driving deals to closure
- Strong process analysis, problem solving and strategy development
- Excellent communication skills and confidence with executive level presentations
- Valid Japanese visa or currently residing in Japan
