Deputy Commissioning Manager

Deputy Commissioning Manager required for Carbon Capture Project in Netherlands. Support the planning, coordination, and execution of commissioning activities for the compressor station. Working closely with the Commissioning Manager, this role ensures that all systems are safely and efficiently commissioned, integrated, and prepared for handover to operations. The position requires strong technical oversight, leadership, and the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

* Support the Commissioning Manager in developing and executing the commissioning strategy for the compressor station.
* Coordinate commissioning activities across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, automation, and process disciplines.
* Oversee pre commissioning, commissioning, and start up activities to ensure alignment with project requirements and safety standards.
* Track progress, identify risks, and support mitigation measures to maintain schedule and quality.

Technical & Procedural Oversight
* Review commissioning procedures, test packs, method statements, and vendor documentation.
* Support system walkdowns, punch list creation, prioritisation, and closure.
* Ensure all systems meet functional, performance, and safety criteria prior to handover.
* Facilitate interface management between EPC contractor, vendors, and client engineering teams.

Operational Readiness & Handover
* Contribute to the development of start?up plans, operating procedures, and readiness assessments.
* Support the transition from construction to commissioning and from commissioning to operations.
* Ensure documentation, certification, and turnover packages are complete, accurate, and compliant.

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
* Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to commissioning teams and contractors.
* Participate in coordination meetings, progress reviews, and technical discussions.
* Promote a strong safety culture and ensure commissioning activities adhere to HSSE requirements.

Requirements:

Strong experience in commissioning leadership on major energy, oil & gas, or large infrastructure projects.
* Proven background in completion, commissioning, or operational readiness.
* Experience with compressor stations, gas processing, or similar process facilities (advantageous).
* Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams within an EPC project environment.
* Strong communication, leadership, and problem solving skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast?paced, international project setting.
