WTG SAP/AP – HV Commissioning Engineer

WTG SAP/AP Commissioning Engineer required for Offshore Wind Farm in Germany

Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the WTG Package site representatives and other Client Commissioning Engineers to assist in delivering the Commissioning activities, driving the work scope forward on site to meet the project programme.
  • Client witness and sign off for Stage 1 and Stage 2 Commissioning of Wind Turbines
  • Being the Senior Authorised Persons or Authorised Person for the HV-Energisation
  • Provide assistance to the Client Commissioning Supervisor and Manager and SCADA Commissioning engineer
  • Based principally on the Commissioning Vessel following installation of the assets offshore. Alternatively, limited work period in the onshore construction yard before Load-Out.
  • Initial investigation and reporting of incidents
  • Perform switching operations in collaboration with the Central Control room (66 kV) at offshore substations, and wind turbines in line with HV Safety Rules.
  • Manage the Electrical Permit to Work (ePTW) system – Permit request and approval.
  • Carry out fault diagnosis and troubleshooting on offshore HV equipment.
  • Weekly reporting and record keeping on Progress and Issues to the Client Commissioning Supervisor and Manager
  • Liaise with Engineering and Quality Departments to ensure Outstanding Engineering/Quality Issues are resolved.
  • Interface with the IAC team, OSS team and WTG team and Central control room
  • Elaboration of Switching Plan and HV Switching Schedules.
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate ‘As Built’ Drawings and Commissioning Records produced by the Contractors.

Requirements:

  • Proven Electrical Commissioning Engineer and SAP/AP in a MV/HV asset (Client or Contractor role)
  • Knowledge of testing Alarms/Controls/Indications from a range of MV/HV Equipment to SCADA Systems
  • Knowledge of commissioning of LV/MV/HV Switchgear and associated components.
  • Knowledge of Siemens protection relays including IEC61850/Goose communications is desirable.
  • Preferable Siemens 8VM3 or 8VM1 operator training
  • Experience of BMS Systems is desirable
  • Understanding of and able to work along HV Safety Rules.
  • Self-starting with planning/coordination and problem solving abilities.
  • Fluent written and verbal English with good communication skills
