TH launches first ESG report

We’re excited to launch our first ever ESG report: a major milestone for Taylor Hopkinson as we strengthen our commitment to sustainability, transparency, and accountability.
(L–R) Jon Proctor, Managing Director of Operations at Brunel, Peter de Laat, CEO at Brunel, and Fiona McRae, Managing Director at TH, speak to employees at Taylor Hopkinson’s new office in Glasgow.

Taylor Hopkinson is proud to launch its first-ever Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report: a major milestone for the business as we strengthen our commitment to sustainability, transparency, and accountability.

From reducing our own carbon footprint to increasing representation across our global teams, we are on a journey to actively measure, disclose and improve our performance on key sustainability metrics.

To show how our ESG contribution fits into the bigger picture, we’ve aligned our activity against the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), setting ambitious targets against the goals relevant to our operations. We aim to engage every Taylor Hopkinson employee in meeting these targets.

Notably, 42% of our Senior Leadership Team is now made up of women, significantly exceeding industry norms and demonstrating our progress toward gender equity. As part of our DEI strategy, we’ve also launched new internal learning pathways and awareness campaigns, while advising clients on inclusive recruitment practices that support better outcomes for all.

Our ESG report in numbers

  • +2,400 young people inspired at OffshoreWind4Kids workshops
  • 2,100KG of carbon emissions saved using e-documents
  • 19,000 trees planted in partnership with the Brunel Foundation

In the environmental space, we’ve made strides in measuring our Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, with a clear commitment to achieve net zero in our operations. In 2023, we also digitised more of our business processes, further reducing unnecessary travel and waste, and empowering our teams to work flexibly and efficiently.

Good governance remains a key foundation for our ESG journey. With new leadership training, updated supplier codes of conduct, and robust internal policies, we’re ensuring that all our actions — from hiring to procurement — align with the highest ethical standards.

As part of Brunel‘s powerful global network, we’re also aligned to a wider ESG strategy, amplifying our impact through collective action. Through shared learning, ambitious targets, and a global reach, we are helping shape a cleaner, fairer, and more resilient energy workforce.

This is only the beginning. Our ESG journey is ongoing, and we recognise the work still to be done. With the publication of this report, we commit to evolving our practices, being transparent about challenges, and holding ourselves accountable every step of the way.

It is important to me that we operate with integrity in everything we do and remain equitable and ethical in our pursuit of excellence, always with a focus on people and respect for our environment and communities.
