Bioenergy and Biogas Recruitment Specialists
Bioenergy, waste-to-Energy and biogas recruitment
Bioenergy is one of the energy transition’s most complex, and often underappreciated, workhorses. From biomethane injection into national gas grids and waste-to-energy facilities reducing landfill dependency, to advanced anaerobic digestion plants turning agricultural residue into clean power, this sector demands specialists who understand both the science and the commercial reality of making organic energy work at scale.
The European bioenergy market was valued at 47.5GW in 2025 and is projected to reach 62.28GW by 2031, driven by policy continuity under the Renewable Energy Directive III and growing corporate demand for reliable, round-the-clock thermal energy. Europe already has 1,620 biomethane-producing facilities, with €28.4 billion in private investment committed to biomethane development ahead of 2030.
The talent required to plan, develop, build and operate these facilities is highly specialised and in increasingly short supply.
Taylor Hopkinson’s permanent recruitment team has been building candidate networks and client relationships in the bioenergy, waste-to-energy and biogas sectors across Europe for over a decade. We work with the leading project developers, technology providers and operators to deliver the permanent specialists who keep projects moving – from development and permitting through to construction, commissioning and long-term operations.

Our bioenergy recruitment expertise
Our team understands the full bioenergy value chain and the specific talent challenges that come with it.
While renewables and bioenergy skillsets can overlap, recruitment is not interchangeable with other clean energy hiring. The candidate profiles are distinct, the regulatory landscape is complex and the crossover between waste management, agricultural science, process engineering and energy development means the talent pool is narrower and harder to find than in most renewable sectors.
We recruit permanent specialists across:
- Bioenergy and biomethane project development
- Waste-to-energy and energy-from-waste (EfW) facilities
- Anaerobic digestion (AD) and biogas plant development and operations
- Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and advanced biofuel production
- Biomass power generation and combined heat and power (CHP)
- Feedstock sourcing, supply chain and logistics
- Environmental permitting, planning and regulatory compliance
- Asset management and operations
