Opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer with Energy Storage expertise to take on the role of Project Engineer with a leading US consultancy firm.
The Project Engineer - Energy Storage will lead or support the technical, commercial and independent engineering (IE) services for large-scale energy storage projects and portfolios. You report to the Executive Director of the practice and work with various internal and external stakeholders throughout the US.
Responsibilities:
- Lead project execution and ensure professional interaction with clients
- Review or produce single line diagrams, loss diagrams, engineering system designs, and use case paramertization
- Perform due diligence for energy storage assessments including independent review of battery specs, system designs, testing and commissioning etc.
- Review BESS system designs, performance, reliability and feasibility from third-party documentation
- Review and provide feedback on client energy models (technical and revenue based) for stand-alone storage and solar + storage projects
- Support extended team through continuous improvement and training initiatives
- Ensure high levels of quality, consistency, and timeliness for all tasks
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; master's preferred
- 3+ years' experience working in BESS application engineering/design
- Expertise in BESS system performance modelling
- Expertise in major BESS equipment
- Familiarity with interconnection agreements
- Strong analytical skills and ability to proficiently utilise MS office products
- Willingness to work outdoors in varied climates
- Ability and willingness to travel as required for the role
