WTG T&I Lead required for a leading Offshore Wind Farm developer, based in Scotland
Responsibilities
- Management and coordination of the Offshore WTG T&I engineering development with the contractor.
- Coordinate the development of the WTG T&I Employer Technical Requirements and General Employer Requirements and all other technical documents.
- Support the contract tender process with all T&I Contractors.
- Review information which is submitted from the T&I Contractors to confirm its completeness and correctness during tender and post award.
- Provide input to the risk register and manage the day-to-day mitigation strategies of the risks associated with the Offshore WTG T&I.
- Lead the technical discussion and recommend preferred approaches and suppliers.
- Coordination of the offshore installation work and activities.
- Lead the development of an optimised marine logistics and installation plan for the construction stage of the project in coordination with the other T&I Leads
- Development of internal marine assurance procedures.
- Management of Marine Warranty Surveyor and document review process for the Offshore WTG T&I work.
- Interface with designers and manufacturers to optimise T&I work.
- Installation and load-out planning.
- Ensure compliance with technical safety design process and CDM regulations.
- Ensuring all activities comply to the consent conditions and that the contractors support the process of these being granted and then comply to them during construction.
- Support the Transmission Package on the Installation of the Offshore Substation.
Role
- Manage and coordinate loadout at the Pre-Assembly Harbor, transport, and installation, including MWS interfaces.
- Manage client's reps within individual areas.
- Ensure contractor's delivery and review of Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
- Ensure contractor's compliance to agreed procedures and support any management of change processes.
- Ensure HAZOP's and HAZID's for installation design and offshore operations are conducted and are aligned to the projects QHSE requirements.
- Ensure Contractors are following best wind industry practice and conducting their work in line with all marine regulations and legislation.
- Analyse and optimise installation procedures prior to and during installation.
- Coordinate and support the Marine Warranty Surveyor.
- Coordinate inspections of vessels provided to the projects for the Offshore WTG T&I.
- Proactively ensure that offshore installation works are aligned to the contract agreement and that they are optimised regarding time, costs and QHSE.
- Establish and manage sub-package organization / groups, incl division/delegation responsibility for transport and installation supporting functions.
- Inform the T&I Package Manager of all significant technical issues, in particular all risks, and develop contingency plans.
- Update the T&I Package Manager and other team members on all past, present and planned activities in the weekly package meeting.
- Review and comment on Contractor's Installation Engineering documentation.
- Coordinate with the Construction Management and other T&I Leads to optimise all operations.
- Implement lessons learnt and record lessons throughout the project.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in the design of offshore wind turbine substructures (particularly steel jackets), including coupled analysis and management of design integrations + Marine coordination as a plus.
