Our client are one of the most well known solar project developers in Europe, with more than 5GW of projects developed globally. As part of their growing development team in France, they are looking for a Project Manager / Chef de Projet for solar project development, in Centre-Val de Loire.
As Chef de projet, you will provide overall support to the development of our client's pipeline across greenfield, co-developments, and acquisitions. This position plays a key role in fulfilling our clients ambitions to develop 1GW in France by 2026.
Duties & responsibilities
· Manage outsourced studies: draw up the specifications, choose the environmental consultants, and carry out the consultation.
· Ensure the follow-up and proper conduct of environmental studies (impact studies, Natura 2000, protected species derogation files, ecological monitoring of exploitation, etc.) carried out by subcontracting partners (naturalist or landscape design offices, associations) on time and on budget
· Prepare project presentation files and represent the company in front of various interlocutors (public presentations, presentations to elected officials, state services, etc.)
· Accompany the land prospectors during meetings with the instructing services, elected officials and the various actors of the territory in order to defend the projects
· Participate in consultations with communities, State services and various actors in all procedures (natural parks, elected officials, etc.) and ensure a level of close collaboration allowing the obtaining of the authorisations necessary for the development of the parks
· Follow the instruction and obtaining building permit files (filing, public inquiry, purge)
· Ensure the transfer of files to the construction department
· Supporting the various departments at Lightsource bp throughout the development process, whether in the development, construction, and operation phase.
Experience & Knowledge
· 2+ years of experience in developing utility scale solar projects
· Experienced in environmental studies, permitting, and community engagement
· Understanding of renewables industry, energy and environmental issues
· Technical understanding of solar farm development
· Understanding of solar farm environmental planning constraints
· Understanding of commercial activities including financial models, funding arrangements and legals
Education
Degree in relevant field desirable
