Taylor Hopkinson is supporting a global solar and storage IPP in the recruitment of a Project Developer, Ireland. This is an exciting opportunity to join an experienced team with one of the most well-known solar project developers in Europe.
This role supports the development team across the full development life-cycle of utility scale grid connected solar and battery storage projects in Ireland.
The candidate will assess the feasibility of developing solar PV projects in addition to innovative technology solutions such as battery storage and green hydrogen. You'll engage with external stakeholders such as DNOs, landowners, government bodies and utilities in addition to internal stakeholders, liaising with planning, legal, finance, engineering and construction teams.
Location: Ireland. This is a home based role initially with a view to hybrid in a Cork/Dublin office.
Responsibilities:
- Support early-stage pipeline development, e.g. assist in the identification of new development prospects by utilising internal development tools
- Undertake site screening and early engagement with landowners, assisting in negotiating land related agreements
- Support the progress of development workstreams with internal business units, providing site specific inputs to facilitate technical optimisation, layout designs, payments, lease document reviews, etc.
- Build relationships and problem solve project issues with external parties such as network operators
- Support the evaluation of opportunities for site specific value enhancement, assessing solar projects for battery storage co-location opportunities
- Run financial models to assess returns on multiple projects, assessing sensitivity analysis on investments against viable technical solutions such that they meet margin requirements
- Undertake market research on Ireland solar and storage market trends, policy updates, route to market options, industry participants and competitors
- Assist with market entry processes to facilitate the successful participation in ancillary services or auction processes
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, ideally in STEM
- Master's in finance / engineering preferred but not necessary
- Two+ year's experience in the renewables sector, solar/storage experience preferred
- Knowledge of the renewables industry in Ireland
- Excellent written and verbal English language
- Flexible and 'can do' attitude who wants to be part of a close-knit, fast paced and hardworking team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders
