Taylor Hopkinson is looking for a Technical Adviser to join a UK consulting time and provide technical support for Solar energy projects, performing activities such as general technical advisory services, construction monitoring, engineering design and grid code compliance verification.

It is a Full-Time role based in London, UK.

The Role:

  • Perform site visits to terrains where projects are being developed to detect the risks associated with the terrain, restrictions (rivers, electric lines, protected trees), the surroundings and other constraints that could affect the project both during the construction or the operational phase.
  • Design layout of PV plants using tools such as AutoCAD, Helios 3D and PVcase.
  • Perform EYA using tools such as PVsyst, site suitability analysis for the pre-construction projects. Also, performance assessment based on historical records review as well as EYA for operational projects.
  • Perform site visit to projects already in operation to identify any issues that could affect the long-term operation of the plants.
  • Design layout of PV plants using tools such as AutoCAD, Helios 3D and PVcase.
  • Support the construction team in the Owner's Engineering services.
  • Support during the development phase of the PV projects.
  • Technical consultancy services in solar energy sector and renewable sources.
  • Technical Due Diligence Performance and Supervisory.
  • Construction and Operation Monitoring.

The Requirements:

  • Engineering degree (electrical, mechanical, aerospace, energy) or Math, Physics.
  • Good Experience in performing, for PV projects, pre-construction, and post-construction Technical Due Diligence on and included activities such as Permitting Assessment, Engineering Assessment, Wind Turbine Technology Review, Contracts Review and Assessment, CAPEX, FM inputs review.
  • Knowledge of the local UK technical market, grid interconnection procedures and requirements in the UK and of permitting procedures and administrative requirements in the UK.
  • High level knowledge of solar assessment and energy assessment (from irradiance measurements to performance data analysis).
  • Good knowledge of solar energy technology.
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office package, AutoCAD, PVsyst, MS Project.
